[caption id="attachment_1227" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="The City of Long Beach is offering numerous Fourth of July fireworks shows this weekend!"][/caption] In an effort to celebrate the Fourth of July in the most safe way possible, the City of Long Beach encourages it's citizens to attend one of their organized fireworks shows this holiday weekend. Below is a list of shows that will be taking place:

Red, White, & Blues @ The Queen Mary, July 4

The day-long celebration includes live music, dancing, strolling performers, balloon artists, face painters, and an appearance by Uncle Sam! Fireworks are at 9 p.m.

Admission includes full access to the event area, ship and entertainment. Food, tours and parking are additional costs.

Admission: Adults $24.95, Kids $12.95, Seniors (ages 65+) $21.95

Tickets can be purchased online at www.queenmary.com, or at the box office the day of the event.

Independence Day Fireworks Preview @ Rainbow Harbor, July 2

The Downtown Long Beach Associates and Gladstone's will be hosting an Independence Day Fireworks Preview from 6-9 p.m. The event will also include live music.

53rd Annual 4th of July Fireworks Show @ Long Beach Veterans Memorial Stadium

This yearly event will include live music, Long Beach Fire Department clowns, a bicycle raffle, and fire demonstrations.Event takes place from 4-9 p.m.

Admission: Adults $10 and Kids $7. Tickets can be purchased from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. daily until July 4 at 5 p.m. at Long Beach Fire Department Station 19, located at 3559 Clark Ave. in Long Beach. parking is an additional $5.

4th of July BBQ @ The Aquarium of the Pacific

Combo tickets include admission to the aquarium plus an Independence Day BBQ buffet with home-style grilled entrees and decadent desserts. Event is from 5-10 p.m. and dinner is from 6-8 p.m. Aquarium opens at 9 a.m.

Admission: $12.95 for everyone after 5 p.m. Regular admission is Adults $24.95, Kids 3-11 $12.95, Seniors $21.95. Aquarium plus dinner is Adults $35 and Kids $27. Advance reservations are needed for dinner.

Long Beach Kids' July 4th Bike Parade

Children and adults are encouraged to decorate their bikes and themselves for this annual patriotic procession on wheels. In addition to the parade, the event will also include competitions for children 12 and under.  Registration begins at 9:15 a.m. followed by the parade at 10 a.m.

Admission: FREE

Meet at Granada Avenue and the bike path. Free parking will be available at Granada Beach's parking lot.
